Department of Psychology Scholarship Opportunities

All application materials are due by 5:00 pm on April 1, 2024. 
Winners will be selected by a faculty committee headed by the department chair. Winners will be notified by the Pittsburgh Foundation by late summer of their acceptance.
 
The Department of Psychology is pleased to announce two scholarship opportunities for psychology majors who will be juniors or seniors next year.
 
These are excellent scholarship opportunities and students who meet the criteria are strongly encouraged to apply. Note that these scholarships have different application requirements. You may apply for both if you meet the requirements.
 

Effective with the 2024-2025 award cycle, applications will be submitted exclusively using the PittFund$Me portal, which can be accessed through my.pitt.edu.

The Dr. John Knox Hall, Jr. Scholarship of the Pittsburgh Foundation was created in memory of Dr. Hall, a psychology faculty member. It is expected that three awards will be made for next year. Each award, of over $4,000, will benefit a junior or senior majoring in psychology who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.

Applicants for this award must meet the following criteria:

  • Junior or senior status by fall 2024;
  • Overall QPA of 3.5 or higher as of the end of the spring term of 2024;
  • Plans for a career in psychology.
  • Applications must be submitted by using the PittFund$Me portal, which can be accessed through my.pitt.edu

The Rose and Zachary Caplan Scholarship Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation was created to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students majoring in psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. It is expected that four awards of over $4,000 each will be made for next year.

Applicants for this award must meet the following criteria:

  • Junior or senior status by fall 2024;
  • Overall QPA of 3.0 or higher as of the end of the spring term of 2024;
  • Demonstration of financial need;
  • Evidence of community service/volunteer work.
  • Applications must be submitted by using the PittFund$Me portal, which can be accessed through my.pitt.edu
