Description: Marketing Intern
The Career Center offers career counseling, guidance on resume preparation, job and internship searches, job interview preparation, along with coordinating Academic Rush (majors fair), career reflection retreats, and career and graduate school workshops. The marketing intern will have responsibility for creating marketing materials and contributing to overall marketing projects and efforts for the Career Center. The position will be supervised by the Associate Director and the Programming Coordinator, and receive daily guidance from the Marketing & Special Events Coordinator and Associate. The intern will interact with department leaders, career consultants and the Marketing Communications staff for the Division of Student Affairs. Intern will work up to 8 hours per week.
Duties of Students:
The intern will create flyers and other print marketing materials, using graphic design software; some familiarity with Microsoft Office products and Photoshop is helpful. The position will also include design of PowerPoint and other slides to be provided to Schools for use on plasma screen monitors. The intern will provide insight to the most effective approaches to marketing to college students and assist with online marketing and social networking efforts. Other marketing projects may arise through the semester, including residence hall outreach marketing, marketing-related research among student groups, and speaking about upcoming events to student organizations.

- Minimum GPA: 3.00
- Junior or Senior
- Psychology and Business dual major preferred, but not required
- PowerPoint, Photoshop and/or MS Publisher proficiency preferred
- Meet with the Associate Director or Programming Coordinator once a week
- Ability to work independently
