Research Interests
My research focuses on adults’ use of language with children during early childhood and its relationship to children’s learning and social-emotional development. The way that adults describe and explain experiences to children during their earliest years serves as a mechanism to construct the world that children see. I aim to understand the different ways that adults (mainly parents) use language, either intentionally or not, to prompt children’s learning and development.
